Well, tomorrow's the big day. My first day teaching. I guess I'm prepared....as prepared as I'll ever be. :) I've got everything I need for tomorrow, but that's about as far as I've prepared...because I haven't been given a laptop yet, or even an employee ID. So I can't really make copies of anything I need, can't get into my grade book, etc. etc. So, one day at a time for Mrs. Blevins!!
My life seems to be full of changes. I must go looking for it subconciously. Jay found a quote on a church bulletin (which we both normally find to be super cheesy....one of the things we love about North Point Community Church: no weekly cheesy bulletin quotes!) that he quoted to me the other day and it's stuck. I love it. It's my new mantra: "Change is inevitable. Growth is optional." I think it's why I gravitate towards change so much; despite the fact that it makes my life more difficult, it offers me a chance to grow. Looking back on my life, every change that has ever occurred--whether negative or positive--created a growth opportunity for me. Thankfully, I can say that God must've helped me take those opportunities because I can see how I grew into a more patient, more thankful, more forgiving person because of them. God has a funny way of doing that--helping me become a better version of myself. :)
So....tomorrow (and all of 2009, I guess) is a growth opportunity for me! And although I'll admit I'm nervous, I am looking forward to seeing how God uses this change to grow me into a better Mrs. Blevins!
